Goosebumps Garden is a boutique native plant nursery & garden dedicated to sustainable practices and ecological harmony. It invites you to explore a world where creativity sparks transformation, leaving a lasting imprint on both nature and community.
Here to restore balance to ecosystem and empower communities through the core values:
SUSTAINABILITY & ECOLOGICAL HARMONY
Biodiversity & Local Wildlife
Imagine a thriving ecosystem where native plants restore habitats for pollinators, birds, and wildlife. By avoiding invasive species and minimizing chemical use, the garden nurtures biodiversity, strengthens resilience against climate change, and fosters a delicate balance where plants and wildlife flourish together.
Soil Regeneration
Healthy soil is the foundation of a thriving landscape. Through composting, mulching, and companion planting, we enrich the soil naturally—boosting fertility, water retention, and microbial life. These regenerative techniques ensure long-term ecological health while offering a living example of sustainable land stewardship.
Repurposed Materials
Beauty emerges from what already exists. Salvaged wood, reclaimed stone, and upcycled materials transform spaces into unique landscapes, reducing waste while infusing the environment with history, character, and charm.
Water Conservation
Sustainability begins with thoughtful water use. Drought-tolerant plants, rainwater harvesting, and smart irrigation systems ensure efficient water management. Swales and permeable surfaces capture and retain rainwater, demonstrating simple, effective conservation methods that visitors can apply in their own spaces.
CREATIVITY & COMMUNITY IMPACT
Biophilic Design
Immerse yourself in a sensory-rich environment that connects people with nature through organic materials, light, sound, and scents. The harmonious blend of these elements creates balanced, restorative spaces that promote well-being, tranquility, and a deeper sense of connection to the world around us.
Earth Structures
Sustainable architecture blends seamlessly into the landscape with materials like adobe, cob, and rammed earth. These eco-friendly structures offer natural insulation, passive heating and cooling, and minimal environmental impact—proving that sustainable design can be both functional and beautiful.
Self-Sufficiency & Learning
Empower yourself with knowledge of sustainable food production, natural building techniques, and resource-efficient practices. Goosebumps Garden serves as a place of learning, encouraging self-reliance and inspiring others to embrace sustainability in their daily lives.

ABOUT
YASEMIN
OZEL ALTAN
Yasemin Ozel Altan (London, 1989) is an artist specializing in biophilic decorative design. All of her pieces are individually handcrafted and each item is a unique collectible. Ozel Altan was raised in Istanbul, received her MA in Fashion & Luxury Brand Management in London and relocated to New York. As of 2021, she works from her Los Angeles home studio.
Being easily moved by the late neolithic period, her adoration of ancient near eastern antiquities shows in her work. Also deeply influenced by Japanese aesthetics and philosophies, she incorporates wabi-sabi in her work as a means to mirror the very imperfection of beauty in nature. The authentic essence in her creations is weaved by various inspirations that range from cubism to ancient pottery but most of all, her single-minded approach to challenge artificiality and experience beauty in its primitive and earthly form.
Ozel Altan has an explorative approach and she likes to pursue new materials to achieve an exotic look. At the studio, she experiments with different construction techniques to craft organic shapes and textures. Her passion in sculpting decoratives engraved by nature’s touch derives from questioning the values of contemporary luxury in our age of environmental decline. By depicting nature, she aims to emphasize the notions of connectedness, unity and abundance that are inherent to it.
